ABOUT ME

Sarah Taborga Head Shot.png

Greetings, I'm Sarah, a queer Bolivian-American communications professional, filmmaker, and builder of community.

I blend creative and strategic thinking to produce engaging, mission-driven content for social justice organizations. I have managed communications teams to produce trailblazing arts festivals in the Bay Area and led campaigns that resulted in the passage of two child care advocacy laws in California.

I am also an award-winning filmmaker who helps companies and indie artists meaningfully connect to their audiences through producing, directing, cinematography, sound design, editing, and photography.

I have worked at Netflix, Marvel, and HBO on content like Sense8, Ant-Man, and Looking, which provided me with incredible training in the structures and workflows of professional filmmaking. I have produced, directed, filmed, and edited stories for numerous organizations including MACLA, Advancement Project National Office, The Port of San Francisco, San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association, BAYCAT, Puente Human Rights Movement, Causa Justa/Just Cause.

My “2020 PSA” video was featured on the Oprah Winfrey Network in the program, Where Do We Go From Here? My documentary, Dear Queer Dancer, aired on PBS in July 2021. As an artist, I create stories for social introspection. As a Bolivian-American and SF Bay Area native, my stories highlight the brilliance of people of color, fully-realized female characters, and the importance of provoking cultural norms.
